Academic & Professional Background

I completed my initial dental training before pursuing specialist orthodontic training in the United Kingdom. This included a Postgraduate Certificate in Orthodontics.

I then completed a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics (DClinDent) at University College Cork. This provided comprehensive training in diagnosing and managing both routine and complex cases.

To further refine my expertise, I undertook advanced training in lingual orthodontics under Professor Dirk Wiechmann. He is the developer of the WIN and Incognito systems.

I later completed a Master’s Degree in Lingual Orthodontics at the University of Padova in Italy. This is one of Europe’s leading centres for advanced orthodontic education.

I am among a very small number of orthodontists in Ireland to hold Membership and Fellowship qualifications from the Royal Colleges in Ireland, England, and Scotland.

I am also the only orthodontist in Ireland to hold Active Membership in both ESLO and WSLO. In addition, I hold Diplomate status with the European Board of Aligner Orthodontics (EBAO).

Alongside clinical practice, I serve as Scientific Secretary of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland.

I am also one of the leading providers in Ireland of skeletal anchorage techniques. These include MARPE, DOME, and other mini-screw supported appliances. These approaches improve precision, expand treatment possibilities, and increase efficiency.
