I’m pleased to share a recent development in my career: I’ve been awarded membership with the European Board of Aligner Orthodontics (EBAO). Consequently, this marks an important step in my ongoing commitment to delivering evidence-based, high-quality orthodontic care.
Notably, I am currently the first orthodontist in Ireland to receive this recognition.
The EBAO sets high standards for orthodontists who specialise in aligner-based treatments. To gain membership, clinicians must undergo a detailed review of their clinical work by experienced aligner specialists from across Europe.
During this process, I submitted several complex cases treated with aligners. Furthermore, each case included one-year post-treatment records to demonstrate long-term stability. The evaluation, therefore, focused on planning, execution, and final results.
Although aligners are often seen as a simple or cosmetic solution, when used properly, they can effectively treat a wide range of orthodontic issues. Thus, this certification reflects my commitment to staying current and continually refining my approach as aligner techniques evolve.
Above all, my focus remains the same: to provide care that is effective, evidence-based, and tailored to each patient—whether with aligners, braces, or other treatments.

Of course, professional growth is an ongoing process. This milestone represents just one part of that journey. I am sincerely grateful to my colleagues, mentors, patients, and family for their support.
